2012 End of Times Prediction, Myth or Fact?

Many ancient civilizations predicted that a major climate change will happen in the year 2012. Today we are seeing the effects of those changes. There are some scientists that believe the climate changing is due to CO2 buildup, also known as global warming, while others challenge that theory. They believe that it is a normal climate change.

This group of scientists anticipate that these natural events have happened before and will happen again. (Like in the year 2012.) If one talks to the paleontologists, astrophysicists,or people with an understanding of the natural cycles, they will probably tell you that these are natural events occurring. A smokescreen is being formed as people are being led to think or believe one thing while another is going on. Neither party, including some scientists, want to admit they don't know for sure what these natural changes will be.

People in the green party are promoting the idea that CO2 emissions are creating global warming and something needs to be done to stop the pollution. In some eyes, the pollution of CO2 has created a change in our climate. Other scientific parties are looking at it from a historical perspective. They are making the determination that every so many years the earth goes through a major climate change and this is a natural part of earth's cycle.

While the green party goes on promoting green living, the other party is studying the sun closer and its relationship to the effects it has on earth. They have noted that the sun is doing things that have never been seen or documented before. Astrophysicists are discovering a link between the magnetic energy of the sun and climate change here on earth. This new information has now muddied the waters in the debate of climate change. Now the parties don't want to send out a mixed message and policy makers need a clear guidance in accepting future changes. It is becoming clear that the climate is unstable and has always been unstable. We just never noticed it due to being in a relatively stable environment as most people understand it. Certain scientists are noting a change in the planets surrounding us. (They, too, are warming up).

It was once believed that the sun was the once constant in the galaxy. Now it is determined that the sun has its own cycle putting us in a universe of change and creating an unknown factor. The sun is being driven by cosmic forces itself.

Do you think if the sun grew stronger it would effect the climate here on earth?

The answer by some would be yes. There are scientists that are coming out and stating that the sun is effecting the climate on earth. Again, with the focus on CO2 emissions, the idea of the sun causing these factors is slightly ignored, except by a few. If one were to look at the graph of an increase in solar activity from the sun and the earth's temperature, they would see an increase in the earth's temperature. The same goes for a decrease in the sun's activity.

There is a decrease in the earth's temperature.

Solar flares, associated with sun spots, are a sudden eruption of particles and electromagnetic energy stored in the coronal of the sun. Solar activity varies in an eleven year cycle. When peaked, there are typically more sun spots and solar flares. Sun spots are darker cooler areas of the sun than the rest of the sun. It is being predicted that when more of these darker areas appear, we could be hit with a solar flare that would be of dire consequences. These flares are categorized into three tiers; C, M, and X. C is the weakest of the three with X being the strongest. Technology would be wiped out for years. More probes are being sent out to document the sun's activities in the belief that major problems will happen in 2012.

The knowledge is there, but many aren't talking about it.

In March of 1989, a solar flare hit the earth. (It hit the earth with enough power, it brought down power grids in Quebec Canada, leaving around six million people without power.)

A posting in the news on April 16, 2001 stated that based on current data, a flare from the previous Sunday was the fourth most powerful on record.

On January 28, 2011 two such solar flares erupted from the sun, making for an impressive start of the new year space weather season.

On February 14, 2011 it was noted in the news, that sun flares may be affecting the aurora borealis after a powerful solar flare hurled into space. The sun unleashing a solar flare was categorized by NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center as a Class M6.6 and has so far been the strongest solar flared to be observed in 2011. This in turn may cause the aurora borealis to be enhanced, allowing those in the northern parts of the US visibility of the northern lights dancing across the sky.

Why is this not being told?

Tell me what you think...

In the event you receive the National Geographic channel inot your household, the episode "The Moon" ( or something alone those lines) is most worthwhile. For me it was the most incredible presentation of science facts I have ever seen and I could only wish it had been done many years ago. Because of this episode, I have a firm understanding of how our planet was formed etc. as never before. In the event you ever view it, drop me a note. RJ

2012 is going to be quite interesting as we move closer to December. the hype will grow and grow with the media making the wildest predictions. I would even expect some hysteria to set in as the media over does the hype and people believe it.

People also believe that the Federal Reserve is a government run institiution that was put in place by the government to help the people. Thank man for the internet to see the truth behind the lies. What are the chances that the media and the government will handle this responsibly? No matter the reprocussions of their actions, I am sure you are right Peter. Thanks again.

This is a great hub. Bookmarking for future study.

My daughter and I were reading in Astronomy magazine the other day that the sun is slowly pulling the orbiting planets closer. Within several billion years we will be too close to the sun for anything to survive. I'm pretty sure it will all be due to the aerosol hair spray I used to use.

Thanks Sueroy,

It will be interesting to see what the future brings. I know I donated a few aerosol sprays to the ozone. Look at it this way, at least it wont take as long to get the perfect tan. I'll be a lobster in no time. :)

Don't be dismayed about the future. Jesus Christ will soon show up and keep us from killing ourselves and take full controll of the weather forever, Isaiah 66:22-23,Hebrews 2:6-8. God still controls the universe and made it for us to rule over forever. Some humans just don't see God in all these things they made for us but they will very soon, Ehesians 3:14-21.

Changes are happening surely, but I think they always were and we never knew about them. I don't think anything is necessarily pre-determined to happen in 2012, but at some point, someday, something will happen. A meteor wiped out the dinos, an explosion in Yellowstone cover half the continent with ash... these things are part of the natural cycles of the planet, and one day something like a huge solar flare or something else will happen again, it's just a question of when!

I don't believe in global warming in the sense of it being mans fault, I just think it is natural, Mars is also going through this cycle, and as there isn't anyone up there with a hairspray can, I don't think it can be because of that! lol great hub, I really enjoyed it, cheers nell, rated up!

Thank you for your comments and sorry it took me so long to respond.

People can be strange creatures. I have seen some go from one extreme to another worrying when and if the world were to end. Honestly, I am not too worried. Scientists have been studying the universe for years and for years have prophesied one thing or another.

We are but a speck in the vastness of it all. Any little thing that happens can become a catastrophe to us. Look at what is happening to Japan and other places in the world experiencing the eruptions, earthquakes, and tsunamis. To them, this is the end of their world as they know it.

What will happen in 2012...I'm not sure, but it will be exciting to be a part of its history.

Thanks again for your comments...

@ Breakfastpop, Great question! Look at the concept of bigfoot. All the evidence is there to prove that bigfoot exists, but no one wants to come out and claim it is true. It would change life as we know it. Thanks again, I am glad you liked it!

@ SJKSJK, Thanks! I don't think 2012 will be the end of the world, but do think there are events that may happen to change the world as we know it. Thanks again for stopping by to comment!

@ Optimus, Thanks, my family and I were camping by a lake and seen how beautiful the moon was. I tried to get some pictures of it. Hopefully I can find the time to write a hub about it. I think that there's more to this than just the physical aspects discussed here. If we stop for a moment and take a good, hard look at where we're at right now in terms of humanity...our spiritual evolution, the depth of our priorities, the current state of our "freedom"...you can't help but see that we have quite a bit to be ashamed of. We possess technology that is far too advanced of our capability to be responsible with it. Changes occuring in our solar system and the escalation of earth changes are extraordinary, humanity is at the apex of manipulation and we'd rather watch March Madness than delve into learning about HAARP and the implications that may arise from military scientists hurdling unimaginable electromagnetic waves into our ionosphere, nuclear testing, our propensity for war and the uncanny way that trillions of dollars to go missing because of it without consideration of what that may be doing to our planet, us and others? It is much easier to look the other way and assume things "will all work out", especially when we're so busy texting, skyping, tweeting and uploading pictures to MySpace. When it dawned on me that how we are all in such a constant state of manipulation...busy, busy, busy just trying to keep up with it all...and how we blindly oblige the press, banks, governments and yes, organized religion (from whom all wars seem to emanate...) by doing what we're told to do. The world's economy is moments from collapse because we've been sheepled by television and media into a state of consumer gluttony. Millions of Americans have lost their homes to illegal foreclosure, yet the banks are bailed out and forgiven, in fact rewarded with multimillion dollar bonuses for their efforts, the former home owners, forgotten. We're spoon fed sporting events and Justin Bieber ad nauseum and after a moment of prayer and a 20 dollar credit card donation for tsunami victims feel we've done are part then are back at Walmart buying the latest video game to anesthetize the kids. We nod off when CNN gets to the Financial News and we live to hear about Charlie Sheens latest fiasco. We create wars in order to feed our lust for foreign oil and "stimulate" the economy. What has happened to humanity? Don't you ever get the sense that something's gonna eventually spin out of control? I don't ask anyone to believe in UFO's or conspiracy theories or 2012 hype, but I do think we're all responsible for being well informed so we can come to our own conclusions of what's happening to our planet, our humanity, so we can get the BIG PICTURE. The "Conspiracy Theory" label is one that was manufactured to make us all look the other way. Some of these theories, however, are now mainstream because they are intelligent and well thought out and there is so much more to what's going on within each of us and this fragile planet we share as "home". Stop behaving like sheeple, people. Ronald Regan wasn't our "Daddy", people make mistakes, governments have been known to lie and yes, something is awry over the 9/11 investigation. And isn't it just a bit interesting that the Space Shuttle program ended now? Be responsible, do your homework, try to think more as "us" and less as "me", and be at peace with knowing you own your decisions, whatever they may be.

@ Tom, I agree...I think I am hitting the old status when my son told me he felt he was old turning 20 next month...Kids! They are too funny!

@ Cursichella, Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I use to be one of those people that didn't look outside my bubble much until I married my husband. He took the time to show me a bigger world was out there. Politics and Social Issues are something that bores me at times...(I feel like most of them are just crying babies waiting to be fed.), until something sparks my interest. Be it something in the news or my hubby remarking on it.

I grew up with a religious background and have had many discussions with my other half and the way he seen things. (When certain beliefs are pressed upon someone, they come to a point where things aren't questioned much.) Talking to my hubby enlightened me to things that I would sometimes take for granted or wouldn't question because I didn't understand it. Living with someone who is as passionate about Bigfoot and worldly issues, as I am about God, leads to some interesting discussions.

I have often wondered what really went on behind the scene when someone of celebrity status dies and the “political world” is camouflaged by news reports of the celebrity. With our mind on the latest gossip, it is easy for the wool to be pulled over one's eyes until one is blindsided by the changes and questions how that happened. Greed is a nasty sickness that brings out the wolves. I could go on about these things, but will end this with a thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. I think stimulating conversations like these should be a must for every household, maybe then it wouldn't be like sheep being led to the slaughter. Thanks again!

You can spend days on many websites going back and forth to get an answer. The truth is. God is the ruler and he decides when time has come. THE TRUTH

Its simple, no-one is forced to do what they don't to do - which is fair enough. So the choice is entirely up to you, sit back and relax while the end approaches and witness the catastophy befalling earth, or do the only thing that you must do, find Jesus Christ whilst you still have the energy and still in your right mind to do so, before your eyes witness what no man has ever seen since creation. Tribulation that will last a very few years in on the earth's door step.

Oh, and if you are not in the "Jesus thing" as some call it, do your children a favour and let them know about him, in case they will blame you for never introducing them to the Man.

The coming months or few months are not going to be nice, lets not lie to each other. The truth must be told, we are living in the end times and any changes are not for the Good, it will actually be bad-worst-worst-unbearable-so many deaths. They are the worst no man has ever witnessed and will affect everyone, good people or bad people, Christians or non Christian etc. But who you worship will determine your reward for all the suffering in the end.

You may ask, "What if its all a lie or been a lie?", but that you will soon find out on your own, without fail.

tlpoague profile image

tlpoague Hub Author 3 months ago

Thanks Vicky, Knowing Jesus will help to get through these end time days. I agree that it is a matter of choice. I don't press my beliefs on others, but try to take the time to share them if people are wanting to know. If my writing helps others to know Him, then I am grateful. It is obvious that we are in for a big awakening, whether it is by the second coming of Christ, or something scientific. Thanks again for voicing your thoughts on this matter.
